1 The Backbeat - バイリンガル字幕

The first thing I want to cover is the backbeat.
Now, the backbeat is really important.
If you're my finger drumming academy, you already know I call the backbeat my meat and potatoes.
Here's why.
It's the main Uh, source that controls the beat.
All right.
So I like to break it down with, let's do a simple pattern here.
And for me,
when I like to have my kick and my snare,
I usually like to opt for pad one for my kick and pad two for my snare.
And when I play that, I'm usually using my middle finger on pad one.
one index one pad two.
All So let's get back into the meat and potatoes.
The meat and potatoes or the backbeat is the thing that makes you move for the main production of the track, right?
That's your main backbeat.
We'll start with something simple.
two, one, one, one, two, one, two, one, one, two, one, one, one, one, one, two.
All right, so nice thing with that, with nice thing with this pattern right here is, with the same tempo.
I can go ahead and change that and it's going to change the whole beat.
Alright, so you can go ahead and try this right now at home.
If have a midi pad,
a board, all you're going to do is assign a kick to pad one and you're going to assign a snare to pad.
Regardless, if you're left or right handed, because in my classes I've seen left and right hand people still be able to operate the same hand position here.
So we're going to start with a one, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
I say,
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, I 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, I 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, So that was building the backbeat and once again the
importance of the backbeat is what's going to make you move That's the main important thing.
I say it's the heartbeat to the beat.
