APRIL Progress Report // #currentlyinked thoughts and reviews - 雙語字幕

Thanks for watching!
Hello everyone, it's Karina with Karina Loves to Plan.
Welcome back to my channel.
I am here to review my April currently ink.
So these are all the pens that I had inked for April and all the inks that I had in them.
And I'm going to tell you a little bit about how I felt with the ink,
the of the ink, and the comfort level of the pen.
And then at the end of the video I will do an overall update on my collection.
How many inks I've acquired, used or given away, how many pens I've acquired or sold, and look at my overall collection.
as it stands in April.
Let's get started.
The first pen that I had in April was my Pelican M800 in the brown black.
Oh goodness.
And this has a fine cursive smooth italic nib ground for me by Jack Hernandez.
And it currently has troublemaker kelp.
This ink shades beautifully and I love how it goes down green then dries to a lighter brown.
This ink is normally dry and actually a lot of troublemaker inks are dry but this wet nib on the pelican makes the flow.
perfect.
And the size and the weight of the M800 is perfect for me for longer writing sessions.
Along with using my pens for writing and journaling, I also use it for doing doodles or zentangles.
And I used this pen.
Here we go.
So this is the doodle that I did with the troublemaker Kelty and the pellicon.
And the fine cursive smooth italic nib was great actually because it gave me line widths throughout that zoom zoom that zentangle.
So I love being able to do this with all of my pen and ink combinations and stuff.
the ink in a pen.
I have stopped with the transcription project just because I got bored.
Really to it I just got bored so I started doing the doodles and I absolutely love this.
So that is my Pelican M800 in the Brown Black with troublemaker Kelp T.
The next pen and in combination is my in the swirly, joyful chismet.
So blank was actually a that I had done by Tim of Turnpenco, which he now sells actually in his shop.
So are other pen makers who can get this blank and get you a pen made in it as well.
And this actually has a fine,
architect nope you can see that there oh so so fun and this currently has Ferris
Wheel Press workshop wishes So if you remember the ink that came out of this looked like it was green,
so I'm not sure what ink was in here when I started, but I love the brown with the silver shimmer.
The flow was great,
there were no clogging or hard starts,
and I know a lot of people are weary of using shimmer inks in a fine or an extra fine nib,
but this flow was great.
The pen is really comfortable and longer writing sessions.
I know I've had some people comment about my gripping of the pens and how I hyper-extend my,
I'm not sure,
but basically I've been holding my pen this way for my life,
for my whole life, and it hasn't been, you know, extremely uncomfortable from your anything.
This is what has worked for me.
This is the grip that has worked for me.
So, you know, I appreciate the feedback and I'm not actually gripping, like, I don't have a death grip on my pen.
I'm actually holding it pretty lightly.
It looks like it's a death grip because of the angle, but I do hold on to it pretty lightly.
It's not like I'm clenching my pen like this.
It just looks like that from that angle.
But anyway, that is my just turnings pen with fair swill press workshop wishes.
Next, we have the Waterman Corinne.
Yes, this pen had also made my top five or my five fountain pens for life video.
If you haven't seen that yet, I will post that in the corner here.
So, this is the Waterman Corinne, and this currently has diamond masquerade.
So, I gave the ink a 10, the flow a 9, and comfort level a 9.
This ink was one that was recommended to me by a lot of people who had the diamond ink it's Karina.
This ink is one of my favorites.
I the shade of pink with the gold shimmer.
The flow was about average.
I normally like the flow to be a little more wet than average.
And the shimmer was mostly well distributed.
This pen actually feels really, really great in the hand.
I also did a doodle or zentangle with the Waterman Corinne and the Diamine And in a doodle or a drawing like this you can really tell how well a pen performs because
you're definitely putting down, I feel like you're putting down a lot more ink than you would in just a regular writing sample.
There were some instances where it felt like
the flow wasn't as wet as I would have liked it which is why I gave the flow a
nine rather than a 10 and then the shimmer as well I mean it's mostly well
distributed but there's some parts of it where you don't really see the shimmer
so it seems like it's concentrating on certain parts of the doodle and it's
mostly when I've capped the pen for a bit taken a break and then started writing again.
So that is my Waterman Corinne with Dimine Mascorade.
The next pen is my Leonardo Farore in Gender and Spoiler Alert.
This pen has already been sold from my collection and just a quick story here.
I sold it was because it's very similar to a pen that I already do have in my collection,
but I needed to own it and to have it be part of my collection for me to recognize
that it was already something that I had, and it was very, very similar to petrified forest.
I in the camera you can't really tell too much difference where there's a bit more orange in this one,
a more red in this one,
but to me personally they're so similar and if I were to keep one of them I was going to keep the SD.
Nothing against the Leonardo Ferrari model.
I love this model.
It's a beautiful pen, but I had to make the hard decision between the SD and the Ferrari.
So this pen has already been sold and I'm doing just a quick review on the pen and ink combination.
So the ink that was in here was Diamine Colosseum.
I gave the ink an eight, the flow of seven and the comfort level of the pen a nine.
The swatches of Diamine Colosseum online looks so different to what I actually have.
and I wonder if something had gotten into this specific formula or mixture but it's
still a beautiful color however it is dry I would need to add some Van Ness
white lightning to this in order to make it usable for me I'm not a fan of the
flow however the fur has such a smooth fine nib and can and the comfort level
of this pen I can handle writing two to three pages quite nicely and I did a
click doodle I say quick but this wasn't quick.
I did a quick doodle using Dimine Colosseum and my Leonardo Farore.
And I love the way that this ink looks.
And I felt like this was the perfect zentangle or doodle for this ink.
It looks very classic, ancient architecture type.
What is the word?
If you, I'm not very good with different eras in art, so if you can tell me what this looks like, let me know.
You know,
I just,
this looks really,
really cool and this is a great way for you to use the pen as well because you're when you're writing you're holding the pen and the nib in a specific way,
whereas I feel like I'm drawing, I'm holding the pen slightly differently to get the different angles in here.
So really enjoyed drawing this.
However, the ink itself is dry for me.
So that is my Leonardo Leonardo Ferrari in ginger.
The next one I have aimed up is my pilot vanishing point and this is the forest green Taiwan 30th
anniversary and oh I love the matte finish of this pen.
There's just something so luxurious and silky about feeling that.
So this has Pilot Erosia Zuko,
Chiku, So I gave the ink the 10 the comfort level of the pen a 9 I accidentally switched these
around And then I gave the flow of the ink a
9 This is the perfect spring green and it shades
Beautifully the flow it does flow well out of this smooth 18 karat fine nib
But mean personally I like it to be a little bit wetter the comfort level of this pen is
good I don't mind the clip at all and I do love the matte texture of the pen Now,
unfortunately, I didn't reach for this pen as much as I would have a like to.
I thought I would,
since it's green,
I should be able to use this ink in a of journaling spreads,
but I didn't actually use it as often as I would like,
and I didn't even get a chance to do a doodle or a zentangle with this before filming this video,
but I still will before the end of April.
So that is my pilot van.
screen with pilot Hiroshi Zuguchi-Goo-Rin.
Next we have my Lebon 325 in Cambridge and this has a medium stub nib.
So this has been ground by Mark Bacchus.
This was a broad nib originally that's been ground down to a medium stub and this has Ferris Wheel Press knitted net.
So I gave the ink a 10, the flow a 10, and the comfort level of the pen a 10.
This ink is stunning.
I love the dark green with that pink shimmer and it flowed really well out of the stub nib.
I do like the flow to be a little bit wetter, so this was perfect.
And the three two.
very comfortable both widthwise and weight and it's the one that I like and I just do a little bit of a line variation here.
Really love this combination.
I was able to do a quick doodle of this as well,
and oh my gosh I love this one and then you can see the shimmer Reflecting in that as well.
This one was so fun to do and what I love is that because you know in that center part Going over that part multiple times the ink kind of pulls there and then the shimmer
pulls there as well So this was so fun to do a doodle with so that is my lip on
325 with Ferris wheel press knitted and that all then we have my Estra brook SD in blue moon.
Can we just go like this?
Gorgeous mess.
Oh absolutely love it.
It's one of those pens that actually you know the cracked ice resin some of them can look kind of flat but this one has such
variances in the different pieces of resin that are in here but anyway this
one has a medium nib which I don't normally write with a medium nib but
I was so excited to use this pen and I couldn't wait so I went ahead with the medium.
So I have diamond solid on cat in here,
and I gave the ink a nine the flow and eight and the comfort level of the ST It's 10 solid on cat is a gorgeous ink with beautiful shading.
Not may like how much it shades But I think it's beautiful the flow is a little inconsistent though after a longer writing session.
So at the beginning sample, it would be darker and then it seemed to kind of get lighter as the writing session went on.
And of course Estes are my most comfortable pens.
And I've been using this pen actually in my A65 year journal,
and the medium nib is actually not too bad for my writing, especially in the smaller grids of the A65 year journal.
I'm still tempted though to get this nib ground into either probably an extra fine with a reverse architect and get that done by curved spear,
but we'll see.
So that is my extra brook SD once in a blue moon with diamond solid on cats.
Next we have my narwhal or novel or voyeur.
and this has a amazing amethyst.
So I gave the ink diamond amazing amethyst a 10.
I gave the flow a 10 and I gave the comfort level of the pen a 9.
I love this purple.
What a gorgeous, gorgeous shader.
Flow above average and wetness, which is just what I like in the fine nib on this chamzo is so smooth.
And with this particular model of pen, I can write two to three pages comfortably.
And let's just admire the beautiful.
on the troms.
So is just gorgeous.
I know I've had my issues with the normal piston but for this case it's worked out beautifully for me since I fixed it.
Now I did do a zentangle or doodle with this particular pen and ink combination and there we go.
I love how that turned out and you can definitely see the shading as well.
I think by doing these doodles it really brings out the qualities of the ink but it also allows you to get that dedicated time with the pen and ink
combination and I'm loving doing these along with journaling and using them in my planners.
So that is wall or novel or traumso with diamond amazing amethyst.
Last but certainly not least is my zodiac penco in the Aries model and this is in the Arabian
Knight's koi by Jonathan Brooks and this has an extra fine nib and it is currently inked with diamond ink vent party time.
So I gave the ink a nine the flow and eight in the comfort level of the pen and nine.
This ink is fun and punchy but the shimmer was just a little bit inconsistent.
The flow was average and actually there were no hard starts or even clogging even with an extra fine nib.
So if you guys are ever hesitant to use a shimmer ink in an extra fine nib I can use them in my fine and extra fine nibs and have no problem and I can write
one to two pages comfortably with this pen.
And here is the doodle that I did with this pen and ink combination,
and you can't see the shimmer as much as I would like you to.
So the shimmer is a little bit inconsistent, but oh my gosh, that color is just so fun and punching.
I feel like I want to try using this ink again in a different pen and see if that makes a difference with the shimmer distribution,
but oh my gosh, that is just so so fun.
my zodiac panko in the Arabian Nights koi with diamine party time.
So those were all of my pens and inks used for April.
Let's flip over and I'll show you what my collection looks like through the acquisitions and selling off in April.
So here I am,
I'm to do my progress update or the state of my collection and I just wanted to say as a caveat,
this is really for me.
I to have numbers for everything and I'll even show you, I don't know how well it will show on camera, but my spreadsheet.
I keep a spreadsheet of what I acquire, what I let go of.
know that's not for everybody and I'm just sharing this because I,
for me, doing these videos is also like an inventory, a journey of my collection.
So this is not at all meant to be way to influence you to do this for your own collection.
This is really for me and my personal journey.
So I'm gonna go ahead and, let's see here, I'm going to, which pens am I gonna use?
Sorry.
So first thing we are going to look at is pens.
So what I have sold,
what I have purchased,
and where I'm currently sitting,
so number of pens purchased in April,
I have purchased two pens in April,
and then I have six Yes,
and then There weren't any gifted and then inks, so let's go with ink samples first ink samples I love this pen and ink samples.
I 12 and I haven't done an ink haul video yet because I just haven't been in the mood to do it.
So there were 12 ink samples purchased.
Eight were from Gool-Aid pens.
I mean the whole thing was from Gool-Aid pens but eight was a random sample pack for my
birthday and then I purchased an additional four so yeah.
was 12 ink samples purchased and then there were five ink samples used
or given away and actually I want to double check that so I'm actually on
my spreadsheet yeah five ink samples used or given
away and then let's go to the ink bottles and actually I don't think I have an
update for the ink bottles so oh yes I do ink bottles are one that doesn't see a lot of movement normally but there was,
oop, make sure I'm using the right pen, there, ah.
So for ink bottles, there was one that was given away.
And that went away with a purchase of a pen.
So, looking at my overall totals for the month, month of April.
Gosh that was a fun ink, fun fun fun ink.
So how many pens do I currently have in my collection?
35 pens, which is actually three less than what I started with.
at the beginning of the year, but it's actually down four pens since the beginning of the month.
And then ink samples.
I am at 87 ink samples.
So I am up.
seven ink samples from last month and then ink bottles I have 38 ink bottles
which is up one from last month So that is the state of my collection as it stands at the end of April.
If is helpful to you, fantastic.
If you don't like to keep track of your collection like this, that is okay as well.
Everybody is absolutely okay to do what you want with your collection, whether you keep track of it like me.
are just happy to have what you have.
All right, but that is it for me.
Thank you all so much for watching.
