RTX 4090 is a 1080p Gaming GPU Now?!🤯 - 雙語字幕

Let's see how well the RTX 1490 handles Alan Wake 2, which is the most technologically advanced and GPU demanding game available right now.
To test this I am using my pre-built Cyber Power PC powered by MSI, full specifications are on the screen now.
and I've installed the 49T already.
Check it out.
It is quite slim compared to the other 49Ts out there.
However, this is a liquid-cooled one, so you do get...
a radiator.
Normally I would install it at the top, just move the CPU cooler over here.
However, this setup is temporary I'm not gonna bother.
By the way, if you're interested in buying this PC, then check it out at the link in the description.
or if you want to build it yourself then I will also have all the PC parts listed with Amazon links in the description.
Today I will be experiencing this game using the MSI G321 CU 4K 144Hz monitor.
I'm using the other media live gamer Ultra to capture card to record the gameplay to make sure that there is no performance loss.
Do you need a new Windows license key like I do right here with my new PC build?
Then I have a great solution for you.
Over the last three years I've saved a lot of money by buying my Windows keys from cdkeyoffer.com.
Allow me to demonstrate.
I will be going for Windows 11 Pro.
So you just click on buy now.
Then use my discount code Iverine.
Hit apply and that brings the price down to $22.
After that you just submit the order.
and select the payment method you wish to use.
I will be going with this safe and fast PayPal payment, so just press pay now.
Once you're done with your payment you will be redirected back to CDK offer.
and that's your order complete.
Now you can go to user center,
actually it will redirect you there, where you can just grab your key by pressing view key code, get key, and then copy it.
Then you can use your search bar to quickly bring up activation,
settings, change key, insert that key, hit next, activate, wait a few seconds and there you go.
Now you have your windows activated and ready to use for a fraction of the cost that you would normally use.
Get yours now at the link in the description below.
And the way, you may have noticed that they also have other Microsoft software, including Office 2019 and Office 2016.
Don't forget to use my discount code if you want to grab any of those.
After thorough testing, I've decided to use the following graphics settings to play L&W2 using the RTX 1490 graphics card.
4K resolution, DLSS set to quality generation enabled and for graphics quality I'm using the highest possible settings.
It's not high preset, it is higher than that.
Check it out.
Rate tracing is set to high preset which means that path tracing is enabled.
Additionally I've increased field of view scale to 100 which is the maximum.
The settings allow me to maintain above 60 FPS performance pretty much at all times.
Have a look at that,
75 here,
closer to 70 in some scenes,
let's go outside, around 80 The reason I chose to run this game with Ray Tracing enabled is because this game really benefits from it.
The more realistic everything looks, the better the immersion is.
And in this game, if you're immersed, you are going to have a great time.
In this area here, we can drop below 70.
Well that happened, yes, 67, 68 then, but I'm only showing you what is possible.
You may have noticed that the gameplay is not that smooth and if you look at that frame-time graph
it is not flat at all, which means that we're getting stutters and it's not nice.
But I have a solution for that.
Unfortunately, there is no FPS limiter built into the game, which is a must-have for any game in my opinion, but it is not a
problem because you can just use a third-party software.
For example, I am using Revatuna, which is very simple to use.
You just click on the frame rate limit, then type in your desired FPS limit and hit enter.
Go back into the game,
and take a look at that frame time graph it is absolutely flat and the game
is smooth whereas previously we had a lot of stuttering right now I'm enjoying the game And with these graphics settings,
it should not be a problem to maintain constant 60 FPS in any scene.
But even if you encounter a very demanding scene,
you can still use DLSS to improve the performance, you can select balanced mode, it still looks great at 4.
Now let's see how much DLSS and frame generation actually contribute to the performance in this game
and if it is even viable to play Alan Wake 2 at native resolution.
With DLSS set to quality mode and frame generation enabled, we are getting 88 FPS in this scene.
Let's disable frame generation now.
Boom.
there we go we've lost quite a few frames now it's 57 58 so
frame generation was doing a pretty good job by generating additional 30 frames in
this particular scene and if you want my opinion then I do think that
frame generation looks good in this game and I will continue playing through this game
with frame generation enabled now let's disable DLSS so we are at 4k native
resolution now just to refresh your memory everything is maxed out all
the settings are maxed out ray tracing is max And this is the performance without frame generation, without DLSS 38 to 39 FPS.
Yeah, DLSS free technology is pretty amazing, in my opinion, because we can gain additional 50 frames in this particular scene using that technology.
I think you would agree that 30 plus FPS experience at 4K.
using the RTX 4090 is unacceptable,
so needless to say that I would not play this And now let's check how much ray tracing effects performance in this game.
Personally, I think ray tracing looks amazing in this game, and I do want to keep playing
with it enabled for that extra increase in immersion, because take a look at those reflections and the light as well.
Yeah, that reflection in the glass reflects that ticket office flawlessly.
although actual mirrors do not work as I hoped yeah that reflection is not great and this is on the highest rate-racing quality.
Okay let's compare the performance and quality differences.
So right now we have 30 and we're using the highest ray tracing preset available.
That is high.
That that path traced in direct lighting is at the highest setting as well.
Let's turn it down to medium.
And we gained an additional 1 FPS.
Not great considering that some of the effects are lowered.
the lighting is not as accurate as on the highest preset.
However reflections still look great, just take a look at that glass over there that reflects the ticket office.
Overall, medium preset is fine.
However considering that we gained just an additional one FPS, I don't think it's worth it.
Next up, low rate racing preset.
We've gained just an additional three FPS compared to the highest rate racing preset.
However, look at that reflection.
There's quite a bit of noise and artifacts and the reflection quality is absolutely horrible compared to medium and high presets.
There's also noise in some other areas.
take a look at that computer monitor as well as the desk behind their window.
Yeah, there's a lot of noise there.
So low quality rate racing preset is absolutely not worth it.
Trading three FPS for this kind of quality regression is unacceptable.
Now, let's completely turn off ray tracing.
With gained an additional 20 frames by disabling ray tracing, I'm comparing it to the highest ray tracing quality preset.
However, the immersion level is lower, check it out, there is no more reflection in that window there.
It's used to reflect that ticket office, also the lighting is different, and reflections in mirrors look absolutely horrendous, have a look at that, yeah.
This is a horror on another level, there's definitely something supernatural.
But the main point to take away here is that even without ray tracing,
this game is still very demanding and you're not going to get a 60 plus FPS experience at native resolution
even if you turn off ray tracing.
By downgrading the graphics quality preset to high.
You can kind of get there.
It is 60 FPS, but check it out.
There will be scenes where you'll drop below 50.
Oh, it's 15 now.
Oh, 47.
Yes.
That, right.
So yeah,
you will still have to go lower than that and I don't think it is wise to do that because this game looks so good and you just don't want to drop that graphics preset quality
even lower.
It makes much more sense just to enable DLSS and enable frame generation as well to have a great experience.
And this firms that the upcoming RTX 5090 will be very much welcome in games to make no mistake,
there will be more AAA titles that are as demanding as this game.
According to the latest rumors, the RTX 5090 will launch later this year, possibly in quarter four to 2024.
I'm curious, how well does the RTX 4090 perform at 1440p resolution?
I've set all the graphics settings to the absolute maximum,
which is higher than the high quality preset,
and I've enabled ray tracing high preset, which means that the graphics settings are absolutely maxed out right now.
And I'm set to inform myself that that it is still not possible to achieve a consistent 60FPS experience, even at 1440p.
Yeah, this game is that demanding.
So even at 1440p you will have to use other means to boost your FPS,
which means that we are going to have to enable frame generation.
So let's do just that.
and that resolves the issue.
Check it out.
90 plus FPS,
let's come over here where the FPS usually drops,
18 with frame generation enabled,
it is highly unlikely that the FPS will drop below 70,
which means that you can go ahead and lock your FPS at 60 using these graphics settings.
It is necessary to get rid of those status because variable refresh rate doesn't quite work well in this game.
Alternatively, if you don't like frame generation for some reason, you can use deal assess quality, which you don't like.
okay at 1440p and take a look at that.
60 plus FPS, however I want the all the FPS drop below 60 in this scene.
It is getting closer, yeah 56, So, yeah, unfortunately, frame generation is the only option to guarantee that consistent 60 plus FPS experience.
Even deal assess set to quality mode is not getting the job done,
and I do not recommend lowering deal assess quality further at 1440p, it is just not worth it, better use frame generation.
I also want to check if it is possible to achieve a consistent 120 FPS experience at 1440p.
So I've set the resolution back to native, frame is disabled.
graphics settings are maxed out and ray tracing is disabled and it is a 70 to 80 FPS experience.
with dips below 70 I assume in this scene yes indeed I've seen 61 FPS just
then so it is nowhere close to what we want let's enable deal assess frame
generation and there we go that is closer to our target but still In some scenes,
the FPS will drop below 120, so we are not quite there just yet.
The only thing left to do is to use DLSAS quality mode.
And that is 130, 135, 127, oh god, 114 p.s.
So it will still drop below 120,
but only in some scenes,
which should be quite rare in this game,
only when you play saga and you enter some kind of forest, when you are in other locations, it will be fine.
From my experience, there's not that many locations like that, FPS will stay above 120 most of the time.
However, in my opinion, ray tracing is a must in this game if you are rocking a high-end GPU.
So listen, thank you.
trade-racing preset.
Compared to playing this game at 4K resolution, that is an additional consistent 30 frames.
And 90 frames do feel a lot better than 60.
And for the sake of curiosity, let's check if the RTX 1490 can run this game well at 1080p resolution.
Maxed out settings including the highest ray tracing preset.
Have a look at this 60 plus FPS so far Will it drop below 60 here?
No 59 57 55 it is just insane but I wonder why is that the GPU load is still at 99.98%
so There is no CPU bottleneck for sure.
Ray is just super demanding in this game.
Who would have guessed when the RTX 4090 first launched that there will be a game that it can
not run consistently at 60 plus FPS at 1080p?
The last thing I want to check is how well does it perform with Ray tracing disabled?
And even then, all we can count on is just consistent 60 plus FPS experience.
I guess this makes the RTX 1490 the perfect graphics card for 1080p 60 FPS experience.
Let me know in the comments below what do you think about that?
In conclusion,
you can get a consistent 4K 60fps experience with the RTX 4090 in Alan Wake 2,
with all the graphics settings maxed out and ray tracing maxed out as well.
However, to achieve that, you will have to use frame generation and deal with to quality him out, there is just no other way.
Let me know in the comments below what do you think about all this.
