Ukraine war: Russia and Ukraine swap 115 prisoners - Двуязычные субтитры

Yeah, somewhat unexpected, but 115 Ukrainian conscripts have been released.
Many of them have been locked away with seeing some imagery from that release.
Many of the Ukrainians they were put into captive in the very earliest days of the war,
including interestingly nearly 50 that you remember the Azov style steel works at Maripol,
some of those So they've been locked away for quite a while.
The Russian Defense Minister said the 115 Russian prisoners that were released were only actually caught captive in the Kursk region.
So it was almost certainly as a result of that recent Ukrainian incursion in there.
That probably acts as the catalyst where the numbers married up for this to happen.
Probably a good morale fill up for Ukrainian, but particularly for the heroes.
As of style, it would be really important they get back.
That be a huge fill-up for Ukraine.
Yeah, really weren't it, as the 33rd anniversary of Independence is celebrated today.
I I say celebrated.
Clearly, those celebrations are going to be muted as the war grinds on.
What's the latest there?
Yeah, we've been focused a lot on In last 24 hours about the celebrations in Ukraine, but war, frankly, Russia still on the front foot.
It's a grinding war of attrition there pushing forward.
Putin's special military operation looks like the main priorities are down to the south to secure Crimea.
Then this land bridge in red up to the Donbas and then the whole of the Donbas.
The one bit that they don't have at the moment is this area here.
And that's why the Russians are pushing hard at Pugfrovsk of Touretzk and seem to be pushing very hard
What's interesting winter fighting generally subsides Russia's got up between 10 and 12 weeks before that
It looks like they're pushing full throttle to try and take that and then potentially be in a situation where they might want to be ready to negotiate
potentially with President Trump in the chair, who that he could bring the war to an end.
The of that,
of course, is if you do negotiate a the risk is that rewards Putin's aggression, and that could have profound implications for global security.
And finally, Sean, we know that drone warfare has been a big feature, hasn't it, of this conflict?
And Zelensky has said...
that there's a new drone on the horizon.
Tell us about that.
Yeah, it interesting today.
There's been an uptick of Russian drone attacks over the last Ukraine drone attacks last few weeks.
Here's one that we're from Rostov, which was a few days ago, but the fires are still blazing down there.
And Ukraine's been very successful in tanking airfields, oil refineries, infrastructure.
And as you say, President Zelensky today said that there have been a new Ukrainian drone that's been used.
He was announcing that during the celebration this day.
Now, not much is known about this, but we do know that drones are playing an increasing role.
Yeah, this is President Zelensky actually making the announcements day.
Drones are making it a play an increasing role whether it's tactically changing.
facing after individual soldiers or strategically going after logistics challenges.
Now, President Zelensky has made no secret the fact he wants to develop his defence industrial
base one million drones a year and what he seems to have done very effectively is generate this brand new drone,
sounds like it's a long range drone, sounds like it's jet powered.
What's really what's impressive, though, is how swiftly he's got it to market.
The West takes years.
Technology doesn't take long to develop.
It's the flight testing and the safety cases.
When you're at war,
you're less worried about all of that,
and it gets you much quicker, gets this capability, much more focus on operational capability, and seems to be quite effective at the moment.
And you're saying jet power.
I mean,
this is,
this is incredible so it could it could cover a huge distance potentially like all these
things just because it can go fast if you're using jet power you need to have a big fuel
tank if it's a big fuel tank it's a bigger cross-section we're speculating here but it sounds like it's
not a little handheld drone it sounds like it's a relatively long-range drone hopefully we'll hear
more of action the coming days the big thing is
