Readwise Reader Custom Summary: A Game Changer! (and how to set your prompt) - バイリンガル字幕

I get essence of any videos, newsletters, articles in my native language.
I'm using a customized read-wise summary prompt.
In this video, I will show you why and how to do that.
Like everyone, else.
I started to explore learn and practice AI since the year before last and last year it was really intense and about the same time last year this time I overwhelmed and slowed.
The major reason that I'm slowing down is because the information overload.
There are so many things is happening in the AI industry,
all the tools, all the new technology and updates and it's really hard to keep in the trend and soon my inbox just crashed.
So my reading list is also overflow.
and my native language is Chinese, I'm really much faster in Chinese and reading in English is okay.
First is slow me down.
Second, it take me more energy than Chinese, so if you know thinking fast and slow, you know what I mean.
I want to solve it.
So recently I started to explain how am I able to get the problem right?
The is just next to me.
A tool that I'm using for nearly two years.
Read reader.
For who don't know,
read-wise reader is a tool that developed by a read-wise team
that helps you to collect all the information content from different channels like new status,
blogs, YouTube videos, PDF or even books so that you can read it, consume it one single place and also you can keep your
highlights, your notes all together and for me it's a content tool, it's a content hub
and I use it a lot, but and also there are two ways to collect.
One is to save an article or video into your library.
And the second is just to subscribe some feed.
And by doing that, you can be able to check other information like the newsletter.
or the blocks considered this is as a traditional RSS reader.
It's already done a good job, but still there are so many things that happen.
And the summary tool, which is just launched a few months ago, called Ghost Reader, and this tool is really helpful.
If you chat,
for example,
if I chat article,
and basically it's a tweet from one of the tweets that I saved,
and there are more information from the summary, you can see it's quite short and quite general.
Basically, I can't see the major...
information and I will need to read something here which I don't want.
If I use the summary feature,
I tap the ghost reader button to help me summarize it and this feature will work at the background and now I can see it's
translated into my native language.
so that I can read why I was the essence of this of this treat of this article and also it showed me
a summary with a very clear structure and the key points and also three key points and also
the resource that I can follow and after that is the actions that I can do.
So I can check those things clear and decide if I want to go further to read the article word by word,
or that's good enough, I just leave it.
That's the summary I'm using.
And if you want to customize it,
simply just go to read-wise,
home page or any page and you will see the preferences button at the top at the
bottom left tab it and you will see ghost reader prompt and by
tapping customize it you will see this page show you can add it the prompt or other features.
So now let's focus on this.
So this is my prompt and I'm using the prompt in Chinese and I'm not going to translate all I've read it out loud now,

The one is from live hacker Riemann Hunch.
So he is a Taiwanese content creator,
knowledge worker, and from his blog here, Readwise Reader update Chinese AI summary, and from this one I bought in Spain.
and start to see okay this seems a very good feature how can I able to use it and
I learned his prompts and then I customized it to to something so yeah big
shout out to Raymond and one thing that's really good is that from his from his
prompt is that if you have highlights some part from the original articles,
and then the summary will be more related to the highlights you make.
So, it's not just a general highlight.
So, yeah, that's one is really helpful.
And the other shout out I want to do, I want to pull out is Janet.
So, Janet, she shares.
a way to use clouded to analyze podcast and then make it get all the clear
summary or the structure or the useful information from the podcast.
So this is also very useful like a very useful method that I'm using.
and also customize it.
So basically, I combine these two tips together and then make my own and go and try it.
And if you're using other language,
if you prefer to do it in English, Japanese, Spanish, just translate it into your own language, chatability or other language.
LMM module and then customize what you want.
That's what I'm doing to help me and the result was really good.
So before I got nearly 300,
400 articles that I days I get all of them sorted and category so some of them was moved to my library to read and some
of them I already consumed and I just archived those things.
That's a very good step for me to get back to my control of all the content but there are also some limitations.
Basically from read-wise.
It works really well for YouTube videos, PDF, blog posts, and short posts.
It doesn't work for podcasts.
So you consume podcasts, podcasts a lot, you might want to explore other ways.
I will introduce that later in my YouTube if you're interested.
The other thing is that some summary will be cut off, for example, like this one, and basically it haven't finished.
I assume this is because of the length limitation.
And one more thing about this is currently the prompt using GPT-3.
can select it to gpt4 or gpt4 turbo and by doing that you will need to provide
your own open-air API key and it will be charged for all the tokens you are and if
you're using gpt 3.5 turbo it's free so if you're already ready really It was a customer, just use it for free.
So it works quite well for me.
