This is me at 5 years old on Christmas morning,
receiving the best toy in the world, which eventually led me to try and get an actual skateboard, and then I broke my leg.
Hey Luke, what happened to you?
I spent my whole kindergarten year with a cast from my toe to my waist which was pretty
funny watching these videos and then also seeing that my parents literally let me do whatever I wanted in this cast.
Eventually I got the cast off but the doctor actually told me I probably will never be able to leave.
last time you saw your leg and that one day on the skateboard ruined the rest of my life.
At this point, my leg was totally fine and I tried out a lot of different sports.
I also tried out different board sports, snowboarding, surfing, wakeboarding, but I couldn't seem to get back on that skateboard.
Until one day, I found the tech decks again and thought let's try the skateboarding thing again.
start off too well, but I kept going, got my first ollie right here.
This took like a whole year to learn how to get up a curb.
Then took some stairs and I finally learned some other tricks, landed my first kickflip, and I just kept going.
I skate all day after school in between other sports.
which eventually led me to making this YouTube channel and uploading my first skate video So after high school, I moved to LA now.
I doing skateboard content and just really really into skating Yup,
hoo, like a sea, too hard for me But I'm still with another man, yeah
I don't know where I'm going, where's the sea, hoo What?
yeah But then it got to a point where it was kind of hard to go out every day and try to land new tricks.
So would me hours and hours and I would get this one clip and it started to turn into a job of stressing out.
to land a trick in time so I can post a video.
It just started to take the fun away from skating.
So then I kind of shifted my YouTube channel to more lifestyle and just to do more fun things.
Which brings me to now 2024.
I don't know if a lot of you guys know me from my skate videos or just my more lifestyle videos.
I honestly don't skate that much anymore,
which is sad to me, you know, deep down, the young Lucas, like, ah, you need to get out there and skate more.
So today I thought, why not dust off the skateboard, see what we could do.
I made a little checklist of things I want to accomplish today.
You know, we're just having fun with it, get them back into it.
But my goal is, to see if I could check off everything on this list.
First on the checklist, we got to change this board because this board is toast.
I'm gonna do a board setup on the subway.
I do have a big blade in my backpack, but I think it's fine.
Today we're rocking with the 8.25 no pressure deck.
available on the site from the last drop, like can I open it?
If you guys want to go check it out, no pressure.shot This is a big shadow for all the OG skate viewers.
This is really just a fun skate blog, a little thrasher guy.
This could be the first board set up on NYC subway.
The sketchy part is what I'm gonna cut it.
I'm like, oh, I pull out a knife in the sew.
Everything is so hard even though I've been doing it for like 10 years.
I'm gonna get off this train.
I got to see if I could do a first tee kickflip on the new board.
This could go really bad.
On the checklist, I also have to hit five kick flips.
You just to get back in the game.
Let's see, I'll do one right here.
Ooh, this board's feeling nice.
Oh wow, that is not very good.
We made it here to Ocean Hill,
skate park I believe is what it's called for about 40 minutes away from Manhattan cool to explore you know it's a great day out to go skating.
Spark is honestly really really cool.
I feel like it's doable where I could land some of
Shricks We have a little warm-up at the park hit a little VHS tape-by back to the checklist.
For some reason I'm just so bad at Tres.
I'll just sit here for a minute, which is the non skaters.
It's like With the kick-flip.
I feel like skate lingo makes no sense.
Oh, should I trade flip crook and all the heal out?
I think I'm on is that real?
Anyways, I just feel like my whole life, my excuse has been, I'm still growing.
So eventually I'll be able to do it, but I just honestly can't tray.
So today's a day of practice.
So gonna do five trays in a row.
Let's see what we're working with.
Nope, for some reason I just can never do this trick.
So a lot of tries and a lot of effort just for one single clip,
you know, and you never really put in your fails in a regular skate video, but we put it in all the fails.
I'm supposed to do five, you know, instead of tray flips, this is the trick I learned.
That's because I can never tray flip, but now I've got big boys.
Now I just need four more, but I think I just unlocked it.
I can't even do it on flat ground.
Alright, let's go to the park.
Now the goal is to do five tricks on five different obstacles.
So we're going to start with this quarter pipe.
I'm to do a pop rock nose one.
Yes, that's a real trick.
but I just need to do it every time I go to skate park and better and better and better let's see if I do it first try it happens every time man
all right next one front three on the hip oh my gosh two tricks to down.
Obviously for the video we're making it cut faster.
Let's see if we can do this for a strike.
This is my favorite trick.
Alright that was a lot easier.
It's a little ones you know.
I'm my confidence a little bit.
Now we're gonna try this eight frame scary, scary rail.
It's just a board slide, but just to get comfortable again.
First try, this is scary.
It's not scary, I scared.
Oh, yeah, let's tell me I won't, I won't, I won't, redemption.
Just a Ollie over into the transition.
I to make it look good, you know, it'd be like a ski-dee-low.
Maybe we just call it on that, yeah.
I see my chest kinda hurt.
We gotta keep on going with the checklist.
I sent a little bit but uh there's a couple more things we're going to go hit.
We're going to take the train, hit another spot.
I'm going to call RAC if he wants to uh come hang out.
Yo we're like a block away from Tompkins if you want to come.
The come in, need some motivation.
And then to here at the Tomkins Square Park, this is by far the busiest.
There's just so many people here.
I mean, it's an amazing day out, so I don't blame them on my list.
I put one cent so there's this rail that I've tried here That's really really scary,
but today we're gonna see I can do it so sketchy This is a very scary for me
It's actually not too bad so once you see Start falling, then it gets scary.
This is what I'm trying right here.
I feel like if you were just to land it at the end, like you got it.
That's a skater, QRE's fall right there.
all right hit the rail go go oh my gosh whoa dude that hyped me up wait I'm
actually so impressed now I gotta do it See that's what the scary is My eyes man.
I did not expect to land that.
Damn, I already got me on the slow-mo.
Yeah, I feel like it looks so lame on camera, but I'm actually hyped.
Cause the other day I tried to do this for an hour.
This what skating's about.
When you land a trick, it feels so good.
So no matter how it looked, I land in that, and I'm hyped.
We have a special guest, but I don't know where he went.
He's excited because we're skating today.
There's this famous skate spot right here.
That's really gnarly that I was gonna try.
But it looks like they're filming like an old-time movie.
Like there's all these cars, but that's like the left.
Hey special guest, he's back, I'm retired.
You see they're filming a movie?
It like a Batman-esque movie, right?
Because all the old cars and stuff.
But I don't think it's just that big of an issue.
I like you could still sneak by.
As a couple, it's probably property.
Why do we pay it's actions?
To able to skate that, you know?
Here's another street spot.
I got to do one street spot today in one cent.
Even it's this little three stair, oh this is a big ass stair set.
like Max I can do is Ollie it which would be a sin why are stack level of you Ollie this would be insane
I don't think I've ever done a nine stare definitely have I know this guy's doubting me today.
No, I'm not doubting you I think you totally do it's just an Ollie dude.
You should definitely do some Ollie's on flat first.
Thanks coach Should I You send it, it's like, did I warm up properly?
Eesh, like that's pretty big.
Okay, you don't have to touch this with me?
Kelly might end up sending the eighth stair or ninth stair.
Bro, you're going straight.
So hard to just like, ah, let's just don't down the nine stair, you know what I mean?
I just wanted to all the way this three stair gig flip.
I don't know how to just start sending it.
Come on Luke, we believe in you.
Three so you don't go back.
That's the biggest part for me guys like getting over that fear like ideally like that hurts more than landing it You know,
it's just that mental block of like throwing your feet on there Oh my gosh Trying to ollie this stair set,
Maybe now I gotta do it You got a little rip or two That's crazy More speed Gotcha.
I don't know why it's so big for me.
I feel like that's too slow too.
This is a mental block right here.
I Can't believe you did that like I'm so impressed nine-star check.
I've never done a nine-star even though on camera We watch it back.
It does not look that crazy, but for me.
I feel like I'm satisfied That's like literally the biggest stairs that you ever yeah,
it is the biggest I feel like I did go faster Cuz like you are retired oldest shit like frail dude.
