Everything is about to change.
By the time you will be watching this video, I will have sold my beautiful countryside villa in the Silver Coast of Portugal.
So this is it, the last day in the house.
A lot of great memories have happened here, and it's on to the next adventure.
Alright, so we're doing the final walkthrough of the house, we got the beautiful signature framed
window, the stone that looks through one of my favorite features of the house, into the living room here.
Nice and clean now.
which is where they stomped on the wine grapes.
I'm going to go upstairs and check out where the magic pad is.
This is where my office was.
They just ended up here and added all my videos from up here.
here and look out at the beautiful Village View and you could look down as well at the rest of the living room,
which was super cool when people would be down there working more doing stuff.
Up through here, this is where I filmed a lot of my videos.
All of the floors and everything, these nice, beautiful windows, obviously one of the coolest rooms in the house.
a feature up here that I think is awesome, probably stolen as religious, so God knows where I'm going.
So it's time to say goodbye to the house where it started at all here in 4th Street in this absolutely beautiful village.
I honestly couldn't have picked a better place to come to on my first day.

Thanks for watching First off, I want to start off by saying that I'm extremely lucky to be able to do what I do.
Without my subscribers and this platform,
I wouldn't be able to travel the world and live here in Europe, which has been a lifelong dream of mine.
Hearing your stories about how my videos have helped you guys come and travel in Portugal and move to Portugal or the rest of Europe has meant the world.
over the past year, so many things have changed here in Portugal.
Portugal a completely new government now,
the non-habitual tax regime giving foreigners a 10-year,
20%
max tax rate has ended,
and the famous Golden Visa allowing one of the easiest way for wealthy foreigners to buy their way into residency in the European Union no longer applies to residential housing.
have anything to do with why I am ending Dave and Portugal.
Ever since I was young, I loved making videos and telling stories.
I used to use my dad's VHS camcorder to reenact my favorite movie.
movies like Star Wars, and eventually during my teenage years I discovered Anthony Bourdain.
His TV shows,
Parts Unknown and No Reservations,
had a big impact on me, and were basically a passport for me to travel around the world right from my living room.
And I always hoped that one day I would be able to travel the world.
like him.
Fast forward to the year 2020 and I lost my job due to the pandemic.
So I decided to take this opportunity to try something completely new.
And so I made the leap across the pond and started this YouTube channel, Dave in Portugal.
And with less than a hundred subscribers I gained over 75,000 subscribers in less than two years.
People.
I clearly to know about Portugal and what life was like living here.
My video is about culture shock in Portugal for an American went viral and I was able to
take my viewers along some of the best food and experiences here in Portugal.
But behind the scenes there was a life happening here that the can.
cameras and my viewers didn't get to see because even as a YouTuber,
the best moments that I experienced here in Portugal did not get captured on camera.
And there was a part of my soul that really wanted to show the authentic side of Portugal
like you are standing right next to me eating
food with a grandmother or a mother in a kitchen or a very small tashka having
incredible food and experiencing it like you are right next to me.
And that's the real reason and the part that I love about making these videos.
So with that being said, I need to expand my horizons and move into a new era.
So after this video, my channel will no longer be called Dave in Portugal.
It will become Dave on Earth.
Portugal will still continue to be my home base, and I will still make monthly videos about Portugal.
But this expansion will allow me the growth necessary to start to make the kind of videos and series that I believe I'm capable of.
To bring my viewers the most authentic stories around the world and the best production quality possible.
This new era will feature travel vlogs,
best of hidden gems around the world, and something I've been wanting to do for over a decade, a documentary travel series.
